The Netherlands: Shipyard De Hoop Receives Engineering Contract for Conversion of TEAM OMAN

Shipyard De Hoop has this week received an engineering contract for the conversion of the Team Oman. This cable layer, formerly known as the Seaspider was build at De Hoop under yard number 379 in 1999 and has since several years been owned by Topaz Marine with their headoffice based in Dubai.

For a job in the North Sea, the vessel will undergo various changes such as the installation of extra bow thrusters, cranes, etc. De Hoop shall initially provide the conceptual engineering for this.

Shipyard De Hoop has a history of almost 1500 build vessels and more than 3000 designs. Although it is strong in the inland passengervessel and offshore markets, virtually any ship can be completely engineered and built by De Hoop. Examples of this are the transport vessels “Brion” and “Breuil” built for Airbus, the cable layer “Sea Spider” built for Wagenborg and the semi-submersible diving platform “Amethyst”.
