UK: A&P Tyne Wins Repair Contract for DSV Seawell

Workers at a South Tyneside yard have welcomed a vessel for the second time this year. Seawell is visiting A&P Tyne, at Hebburn for vital repairs, due to take several weeks.

The contract comes just days after the arrival of Acergy Petrel for a repair contract set to last a fortnight, in what is the third order secured from Subsea 7.

Stewart Boak, managing director at A&P Tyne, said: “Seawell arrived alongside for demobilisation of project equipment. She will dry-dock on Monday, as she has propulsion thruster problems. The propulsion units will be removed from the vessel, refurbished and reinstalled. The ship will remain at the yard for about three weeks and during this time she will undergo a variety of general maintenance works.”
