Acteon at Oil & Gas UK Offshore Decommissioning Conference

Acteon will showcase its integrated decommissioning services at the Oil & Gas UK Offshore Decommissioning Conference in St Andrews, UK, 9–11 October 2012.

Decommissioning is a vital part of Acteon’s market Acteon vice president Neill Kelly said, “Our involvement in this high-profile event underlines both our commitment to the decommissioning sector and our on-going support for Decom North Sea. We believe that Acteon companies will have a leading role in many of the decommissioning projects in the North Sea over the next few decades.”

The event is organised by Decom North Sea, an organisation that works to enhance knowledge transfer, facilitate collaborative activities and ensure that the UK supply chain can capture maximum economic benefit from North Sea decommissioning projects. The organisation predicts that the value of the market over the next few decades will be in excess of £30 billion.

Stuart Wordsworth, general manager of InterAct, has served on the Decom North Sea board of directors since October 2011 and represents the specialist project managers, advisers and consultants sector of the organisation’s membership. He also sits on the conference committee and has helped with the planning of the wells session.

Senior petroleum engineer Phil Chandler of InterAct will present on Technical and Operational Issues of Well plug and abandonment (P&A). This presentation aims to deliver an unbiased and independent view of what is happening technically and operationally with P&A operations.

Acteon companies Claxton Engineering Services Ltd. and Offshore Installation Services (OIS) will also be present at the event to underline Acteon’s integrated offering for the decommissioning market.
