“The newest round of funding will enable approximately 5,500 tonnes of sand to be placed on the beach to the south of Lexie’s Café in time for the Christmas school holidays,” Mrs Hancock said.

“In the past few months alone more than half a million dollars in funding has been provided by the NSW Government to support the local Council manage erosion issues at the beach.”

Funding has been made available through the Government’s Coast and Estuaries Grants Program.

According to the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment’s latest news, the NSW Government continues to support the Council’s investigations into potential long-term solutions to improve the condition of the beach, including its investigation into offshore sand dredging.
