Afren Drills Ahead at Ogo-1 Sidetrack Well (Nigeria)

Lekoil, an oil and gas company with a focus on Nigeria and West Africa, has reported further to the announcement on 29 August 2013, the Ogo-1 sidetrack well, offshore Nigeria, is drilling ahead and is currently at a depth of approximately 16,000ft, with a proposed total depth of approximately 17,900ft.

“Testing is expected to commence thereafter,” Lekoil said.

The drilling is being carried out by Afren, using the Transocean Monitor rig.

To remind, in June this year, Ogo-1 well located on the OPL 310 licence offshore Nigeria, discovered a gross hydrocarbon section of 524 ft, with 216 ft of net stacked pay. The drilling is being carried out using the Transocean Monitor rig.

The Partners’ participating  interests are as follows, Optimum 60%; Afren 22.86%, Lekoil 17.14%.
