Afren to Complete Ogo-1 Sidetrack Well in September

Lekoil,  has announced that, further to the announcement of 26 June 2013, when the company informed of an oil discovery at the Ogo-1 well,offshore Nigeria,  drilling of the Ogo-1 sidetrack well is still ongoing.

Lekoil, which owns a 17,14 % participating interest in the OPL310 block, said the sidetrack well, being drilled by Afren, is scheduled to be completed  during September.

“Well testing, as appropriate, will occur thereafter,” explained Lekoil in a press release.

To remind, in June this year, Ogo-1 well located on the OPL 310 licence offshore Nigeria, discovered a gross hydrocarbon section of 524 ft, with 216 ft of net stacked pay. The drilling is being carried out using the Transocean Monitor rig.

The Partners’ participating  interests are as follows, post the farm out to Lekoil, which occurred back in May: Optimum 60%; Afren 22.86%, Lekoil 17.14%.
