AH Industries Opens New Sales Office in Shanghai, China

AH Industries is strengthening its competitiveness relative to its European competitors by opening a new sales office in Shanghai. The company, which will focus even more on its manufacturing in China, has high hopes for the development of the Chinese wind turbine market.

Based on a new sales office in Shanghai, China, and increased emphasis on AH Industries’ production in China, the company, which supplies components and system solutions to the wind turbine industry, shall position itself on the Chinese domestic market.

Tomorrow’s wind market

So far, China has primarily focused on onshore wind turbines, but in the coming years it is expected that the emphasis will change to include large offshore wind farms, and AH Industries is prepared for the wind turbine market of the future.

“The global market for wind energy, particularly the Chinese market, is under pressure, but we expect the market to stabilise within a few years, and by then we will be in a strong position. As an international player in the wind turbine market, we constantly have to adapt to the world in which we operate, and we will continue to concentrate our efforts on the areas in which we can expand our business,” says Thomas Ballegaard, Vice President of AH Industries.

Natural evolution

The wind division of AH Industries employs approximately 400 people in Denmark, Germany, the USA and China, and a large number of them are employed in Ningbo in China. This is one reason why it is natural to focus on the region.

“Our operations in Denmark, Germany and the USA will be affected by our decision to increase our activities in China, but we will be stronger in China. With approximately one-third of the wind division’s employees based in China, it is natural to focus on this market. We have invested substantially in our Chinese setup, and it has helped to ensure that the Chinese organization is currently technically competent and capable of delivering the necessary quality and flexibility to service the wind turbine market,” says Thomas Ballegaard.
