Alam Maritim wins work on Petronas first FLNG

Alam Maritim Resources has received a letter of award from Malaysia’s state-owned oil company Petronas for a subcontract work on the company’s first FLNG unit, the PFLNG-1.

Alam Maritim was awarded the subcontract for the supply of miscellaneous marine spreads for Petronas’ first floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG-1) project.

The company said that the value of the deal is RM28.3 million ($6.8 million). The subcontract is expected to start in mid-June 2016 until mid-October 2016.

Alam Maritim was last year awarded a contract from Petronas for final positioning and mooring system hook-up works on the vessel.

The PFLNG-1 unit was named in South Korea in March at Daewoo Shipbuilding Marine & Engineering shipyard and headed to the Kanowit gas field, offshore Sarawak, in May 2016.
