All Beatrice OWF Cables Now In Place

Siem Offshore Contractors has completed the inter-array cable installation at the Beatrice offshore wind farm site, according to Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Limited’s (BOWL) social media post from 21 August.

A total of 91 cables have been installed between the 84 turbine locations and two Offshore Transformer Modules (OTMs).

The export cable operations were completed in May, meaning that all offshore cables at the site are now in place.

Meanwhile, Pacific Orca has erected the tenth Siemens Gamesa 7MW wind turbine and will continue the works until Spring 2019, for when the 588MW Beatrice is scheduled to be commissioned.

The offshore wind farm, being built some 13 kilometres off the Caithness coast, will be capable of powering some 450,000 households.
