Alliance Aviation to Provide  FIFO services QCLNG Project

Alliance executes new FIFO Contract with Serco Australia Alliance Aviation Services announced it had signed a contract with Serco Australia for the provision of Fly in Fly Out (FIFO) services between Brisbane and Miles in South West Queensland.

These services are in support of the QCLNG Upstream Project, one of Australia’s largest capital projects that will supply up to 12 million tonnes pa of LNG through Curtis Island.

Serco are a global services company with over 9,000 staff in the Asia Pacific region. Serco have been contracted by Thiess Pty Ltd to provide a range of services to support the project.

Flights under this contract will commence on 19th November with an initial proving flight being operated on 12th November.

Initially, Alliance will operate 24 flights per week between Brisbane and the newly upgraded

Miles airport in Fokker 50 turboprop aircraft and then transition the services to Fokker 70 jet aircraft when relevant approvals are issued.

The flights will operate from Alliance’s newly dedicated FIFO facility at Brisbane Airport, enhancing the travel experience for FIFO employees.

Alliance Aviation Managing Director, Scott McMillan said: “This is our first contract in the coal seam gas sector and we are already seeing significant interest for additional services from other organisations with operations in the Miles district.”

“We are seeing growth in demand for FIFO services from the oil & gas sector and have strategies in place to increase our exposure to this industry.”
