Almost Half a Ton of Cocaine Found on Boxship in Antwerp

Belgian customs authorities have seized some 484 kilos of cocaine in the port of Antwerp, Belgium, the local media informed citing the Antwerp-based customs branch.

As reported, the drugs were found on November 17th in rolls of plastic film hidden in container cargo on board a boxship identified as the Panama-flagged 53,436-DWT MSC Kim.

The 2008-built ship had arrived from Ecuador in Antwerp where it had some overstay.

Investigation into the matter is underway by local authorities.

According to the latest AIS data from November 24th, the ship left the port and was under underway in the Celtic Sea bound for the United States.
