AMA Marine Acquires Team Tankers’ Ship

Thailand-based shipping firm AMA Marine Public Company Limited has decided to expand its marine transportation services by adding a 13,221 dwt tanker to its fleet.

The ship in question is the oil and chemical tanker Team Houston, which was bought from Team Tankers City Class Ltd, a subsidiary of Team Tankers International.

AMA Marine is paying USD 8.7 million in cash for the 2008-built vessel. The deposit was paid on January 4, and the remaining amount would be paid once the tanker is delivered to its new owner in late January.

The latest addition, which is expected to ship cargoes to East and South Asia, would increase the company’s fleet to 11 vessels, with a total capacity  of around 96,200 dwt.

AMA Marine added that the purchase is in line with the company’s 2018 business plan.
