Another assignment for Atwood Mako jack-up

After the Atwood Mako jack-up rig began its new contract in Malaysia on January 2, Atwood Oceanics, Inc., a Houston-based owner of offshore rigs, has said it has secured more work for the jack-up rig.

The contract will be performed in Southeast Asia at an operating day rate of $155,000 for a minimum term of 70 days, and it includes a priced option for an additional term. The company did not reveal the name of the new client. The dayrate of $155.000 is higher that the rig’s current one of $145.000.

The Atwood Mako, built in 2012, is currently working for EnQuest, offshore Malaysia, and is expected to mobilize to its new location in late March, following completion of its current drilling contract.
