Argentina: Enarsa secures six LNG cargoes

Energia Argentina S.A. (Enarsa) has reportedly acquired six cargoes for delivery to Bahia Blanca and Escobar LNG receiving terminals.

In total three out of the six cargoes will be delivered by the Swiss trading house Vitol, with Trafigura, Gunvor and Iberdrola securing one cargo each, Reuters reports, citing trade sources.

Cargoes will be split between two terminals, the 500 mmscf/d GNL Escobar located on the Parana River, some 30 miles outside Buenos Aires and the Bahia Blanca terminal located some 400 miles south of Buenos Aires, with the same baseload regasification capacity.

Bahia Blanca terminal will receive two of Vitol’s cargoes while the third cargo will be delivered to the GNL Escobar terminal, the report said.

Trafigura and Gunvor are set to deliver liquefied natural gas to Bahia Blanca terminal while Iberdrola will deliver its cargo to the Escobar terminal.

Prices for the LNG cargoes were concluded at over US$6 per mmBtu, the report said.

According to Enarsa’s website, 14 liquefied natural gas cargoes in total will have been delivered by the end of July to Argentina’s two regasification terminals with further 12 scheduled for delivery in August.
