Army Corps Unveils Port Everglades Dredging Plans (USA)

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has introduced plans for the maintenance dredging project at the Port Everglades Harbor, Broward County, Fl.

This dredging project consists of a Base and six options. Base work occurs within the Entrance Channel from Station 0+00 to Station 74+50. The project depth for the base work is 45 feet from Station 0+00 to Station 51+00 and 42 feet from Station 51+00 to Station 74+50.

– Option A consists of maintenance dredging the Middle Turning Basin to a project depth of 42 feet.

– Option B is maintenance dredging the North Turning Basin to a project depth of 31 feet.

– Option C consists of maintenance dredging the Southport Channel Cuts 1, 2 and 3 to a project depth of 42 feet.

– Option D consists of clearing the berthing area 30 and Turning Notch of shoal material to a project depth of 42 feet.

– Option E consists of removing shoal material at Berth 19 and Southern Turning Basin to project depth of 37 feet.

– Option F is additional mobilization and demobilization for optional work.

Dredged material from the Entrance Channel shall be placed on the beach. All other dredged material shall be disposed of at the Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site (ODMDS).

The value of this project is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00.
