Commonwealth LNG plans to export first liquified natural gas from its 8.4 mtpa facility in 2024.

Commonwealth LNG plant will have a storage capacity of 240,000 cubic meters, Arup noted, adding that the modular tank design will allow for it to be constructed offsite at a dedicated fabrication yard in parallel with foundation construction onsite.

Arup is supporting Commonwealth LNG to obtain final approval from the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission by providing structural, mechanical, and naval architecture engineering services in relation to the design of the modular storage tanks to be used at the facility.

Upon approval, construction is expected to start in 2021, Arup said in its statement.
