ASCO Supports Maersk Drilling Operations in Norway

ASCO, an oil and gas logistics company, has signed a three year partnership deal to support Maersk Oil’s drilling campaigns in Norway.

The campaigns will be supported from ASCO’s Kristiansund Base at Averøy. The first oil rig to be supported under the new contract will be the Transocean Barents at license 6506/6-2 Albert in the Norwegian Sea, off the coast of Kristiansund.

Transocean Barents is a sixth-generation semi-submersible drilling facility of the H-6e type. The facility was built at the Aker Stord shipyard in Norway and was commissioned in 2009. Transocean Barents is owned and operated by Transocean Norway, with head office in Stavanger. The facility received an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in 2009.
