Atlantis appoints new Non-Exec Director

Atlantis Resources has named Ian Cobban as an independent Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.

Cobban has an extensive experience in subsea construction, operations and maintenance industry.

He was recently Vice President of Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality (HSSEQ) at Subsea 7, where he reported directly to the CEO.

Atlantis also announced that Rune Nilsen, Non-Executive Director, is stepping down from the company’s board with immediate effect, having served four year term on the board of Atlantis.

John Neill, Chairman of Atlantis, commented: “I am delighted to welcome Ian to the board of Atlantis. He has an excellent track record in the offshore construction industry and is well known in the UK and international oil and gas community He is therefore well equipped to assist the Company as we prepare to commence our offshore operations at the MeyGen project site in Scotland later this year.“

Atlantis Resources is the developer behind MeyGen tidal array, that will, when fully constructed, consist of 269 submerged tidal turbines, with 398 MW capacity – enough to power 175.000 Scottish homes.

In Phase 1A of the project, four submerged turbines generating 6 MW will be installed off Caithness, with the first power expected to be delivered in 2016.
