 Downer Names Two New Non-Executive Directors

Downer EDI Limited today announced the appointment of Kerry Sanderson AO and Eve Howell as Non-executive Directors, effective 16 January 2012.

The Chairman of Downer, Mike Harding, said these new appointments continued the process of Board renewal at the company.

Ms Sanderson and Ms Howell have had extraordinarily successful careers and they will broaden and strengthen the skills and experience on the Downer Board,” Mr Harding said.

Ms Kerry Sanderson AO has been Agent General for the Government of Western Australia since November 2008. Based in London, the Agent General represents the Government of Western Australia in Europe and Russia and promotes investment in Western Australia and Western Australian exports to Europe. She will be returning to Australia in December 2011.

Ms Sanderson was Chief Executive Officer of Fremantle Port Authority from 1991 to 2008, a period during which container trade quadrupled. She previously worked for the Western Australian Department of Treasury for 17 years and the Western Australian Department of Transport for four years, ultimately as Deputy Director General.

Eve Howell has extensive technical and commercial experience in the oil and gas industry. She is currently Executive Vice-President – Health, Safety and Security for
Woodside Energy Limited and has worked with Woodside since 2006, including as Executive Vice President North West Shelf.

Ms Howell was a Director of Fremantle Port Authority from 2006 until 2010 and a Director of The Australian Minerals & Metals Association from 2007 until 2010, including President from 2008 until 2010. She is a Life Member of the Petroleum Club of Western Australia and a Distinguished Member of the Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia.
