Australia: Kordia Secures AUD 90 Mln APLNG Contract
Kordia Solutions Australia said it has secured a $90 Million milestone communications services contract with Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG).
APLNG has entered into formal agreements with Kordia for the supply of communications and controls infrastructure to be deployed across a 100,000 square km area and service the extensive communications needs for the life of the project.
The end to end telecommunications solution will incorporate network design, engineering, procurement and construction for both fixed and wireless services.
Prior to the award of this main works contract, Kordia had been awarded a technology pilot project and a preliminary works contract to address immediate priority needs. This activity started in June 2011.
Now, Kordia will start work on the two year main works project which will deliver seamless voice, data and control networks.
The project will include construction of a private network incorporating a microwave backbone, mobile voice, broadband wireless, PABXs, radio telemetry and LAN and WAN services across the largely greenfield lease area with links back to the Brisbane Control Centre.
“Kordia is looking forward to extending our extensive infrastructure experience in the telecommunications sector into a resources industry looking for innovation and best of breed solutions.” said Kordia’s Managing Director, Peter Robson.
