The delivery ceremony took place at HSHI Mokpo shipyard in South Jeolla Province, on April 10, 2018.

Capable of transporting two million barrels of crude oil, the 300,000 dwt carrier is the ninth of ten VLCCs ordered from the South Korean shipbuilding company as part of Bahri’s strategic long-term maritime growth and expansion plan.

The newly received VLCC is one of the five VLCCs that were financed by Standard Chartered Bank, Arab National Bank, National Bank of Abu Dhabi and Bank Albilad.

The commercial operation of Khurais, which features a length of 330 meters and a width of 60 meters, is expected to be in April 2018, Bahri said.

The new addition brings the total number of the vessels in Bahri’s fleet to 92. This is the fourth of five VLCCs to be received this year from HSHI, following the deliveries of Kassab, Lawhah, and Qamran.
