Bangladesh Shortlists Bidders for LNG Terminal

The Chairman of Pretrobangla, Hussain Monsur, said today that Bangladesh has shortlisted four companies to construct the LNG import terminal at Moheshkhali Island.

He told Platts that Golar LNG Energy, a consortium of US’ Astra Oil and Excelerate Energy, South Korea’s Samsung C&T Corporation and India’s Hiranandani Electricity were invited to submit their final bids by January 2012.

The floating LNG import terminal will be able to handle 5 million mt/year of LNG, and it will have facilities for berthing and mooring of LNG ships with a capacity of 138,000 to 260,000 cubic metres.
