The “industry-leading” number has been achieved with the completion of Bechtel’s work on the Chevron-operated Wheatstone LNG project in Western Australia.

Bechtel said in a statement on Thursday that to date, the company has delivered 42 LNG trains in 10 countries and more than 30 percent of the world’s LNG capacity.

The engineering company is currently supporting Cheniere Energy’s LNG growth on the Gulf Coast, delivering four LNG trains and constructing an additional four trains.

“The milestones our teams have accomplished in the past three and a half years have been extraordinary. Our milestones are a testament to what the industry can accomplish with innovative approaches to technical challenges, and collaboration between owners, contractors, suppliers and local communities,”  Darren Mort, Bechtel’s LNG general manager said in the statement.
