Belgium: Officials Invite Bids for Ostend Coastal Defence Project

Agentschap voor Maritieme Dienstverlening en Kust has invited bidders to submit their offers for the coastal defence works at the Ostend area.

The contract aims to increase the coastal safety of the beaches in Ostend. The works include dredging, transportation and installation of suitable sea sand in the project area. This assignment aims to implement a beach (and banks) supplementation on the beaches and consists of 3 sub-tasks: Supplementation in sections 97 t/m 108, the supplementation in sections 109 t/m 111 and the supplementation in sections 112 t/m 116.

The works in sections 112 t/m 116 have an implementation period of 360 days from the initial order. The works in sections 97 t/m 111 have an implementation period of 600 days from the initial order. The total export quantity of sand is 1.85 million m3 (measured in hopper).

Project period is 600 days from the date of contact award and the tender deadline is October 18, 2012.
