Asian Geos was awarded a contract by Petronas Carigali for the provision of soil investigation services for Limbayong deepwater development.

Benthic’s Portable Remotely Operated Drill (PROD)2 executed the geotechnical work scope from the MMA Valour in 4Q 2018. Benthic’s PROD collected geotechnical borehole samples and Cone Penetration Test (CPT) to 100m penetrations, seismic probes to 40m and a range of 40m of CPTs in water depths ranging from 700m to 1040m.

Benthic and Asian Geos completed the program on December 14, 2018. Laboratory testing, reporting and interpretation are taking place in Perth.

“We are very pleased with the success of this campaign, as this was Benthic’s first Malaysian project conducted in co-operation with Asian Geos,” stated Steve Pywell, CEO of Benthic.
