BigRoll takes delivery of second Yamal LNG module carrier

BigRoll Shipping has recently taken delivery of the second vessel to transport modules to Novatek-operated Yamal LNG project in Russia, the BigRoll Bering from the Cosco Dalian Shipyard in China.

The vessel will immediately enter into a multi-year contract with Yamgaz, the consortium of Technip, JGC Corporation and Chiyoda to transport modules to the Yamal LNG project, BigRoll said in its statement on Monday.

BigRoll’s first vessel, the BigRoll Barentsz was delivered in April and has, since then, completed the first voyage under the charter deal with Yamgaz. The vessel transported Yamal LNG modules from the fabrication yard in China to Sabetta, Russia.

Both vessels can operate in temperatures below 55 degrees centigrade and feature unobstructed decks for module transport.

BigRoll is building two more MC-Class vessels, the BigRoll Baffin and BigRoll Beaufort set for delivery in the second half of 2016 and early 2017.

The 16.5 mtpa Yamal LNG project is set to begin production in 2017.
