BigRoll Shipping’s last module carrier in the series of four, built by the Chinese Cosco Dalian Shipyard is set to serve the Novatek-operated Yamal LNG project.

The vessel named BigRoll Beaufort will enter a short-term project with Yamgaz, the consortium of Technip, JGC Corporation and Chiyoda for module transportation as part of the 16.5 mtpa Yamal LNG project, BigRoll said on Thursday.

The company’s first two vessels in the series, the BigRoll Barentsz and the BigRoll Bering, have already been delivered last year and completed several voyages under the charter contract with Yamgaz.

The third module carrier, the BigRoll Baffin was delivered to the Dutch heavy marine transportation provider in November last year.

The Finnish-Swedish 1A Ice Class MC-Class vessels are designed for the marine transportation of major modules and equipment for large energy projects both on and offshore.

All vessels can operate in temperatures below 55 degrees centigrade and feature unobstructed decks for module transport.
