The $42.5 million camp contract has a term of 27 months and, through the company’s partnership with the West Moberly First Nations, will provide remote workforce accommodations for the project.

Following receipt of the notice to proceed, all conditions related to the conditional contract award have been satisfied and work is anticipated to begin in the first quarter of 2019, Black Diamond said in a statement.

Separate from the Coastal GasLink project, the company has also been awarded a 304-bed rental contract in Kitimat to support initial infrastructure build-out in the region.

TransCanada’s Coastal GasLink pipeline will run approximately 670 km in length, delivering natural gas from the Dawson Creek area of northern B.C. to a facility near Kitimat, B.C., where it will be liquefied for export by LNG Canada.

The project recently awarded four contracts for the construction of the proposed pipeline with a total value of CAD2.8 billion ($2.1 billion), to Surerus Murphy joint venture, SA Energy Group, Macro Spiecapag JV and Pacific Atlantic Pipeline Construction.
