”We believe that the combination of Blue Water Shipping and Knuthenborg/Bandholm port is perfect. Our strong, local and regional port will gain a new level through Blue Water Shipping’s network of local operators. Together, we will be able to provide security for supplies for several operators who wish to establish themselves in connection with the future construction works in the area. This will create more workplaces for the local area,” says Christoffer Knuth, Managing Director of Knuthenborg Gods – the owner of Bandholm Port.

Kurt Skov, Chairman of Blue Water Shipping, said: “Blue Water has wide experience with port-related operations and as shipbrokers and stevedores, we are active in several Danish ports with port agency services, loadout and discharge of ships as well as warehousing. Therefore, we feel well equipped to operate Bandholm Port and provide services to both existing as well as future clients and we look forward to the cooperation with the owner of the port and the clients.”

Throughout the years, Bandholm Port has been an important local port for fodder, but the parties also see large opportunities for the port to become an important player in connection with the large future construction projects in the region.

Further, there are possibilities of being a base port for maintenance work in connection with a future offshore wind farm in the waters between Sealand and Lolland-Falster.

”In cooperation with the owner of the port, we plan to offer services for the Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link on Lolland, where both parties’ experience can be combined into a strong product,” says Kurt Skov.
