BMT signs offshore master service agreement with Shell
International multidisciplinary engineering, science, and technology consultancy BMT has been awarded an offshore master service agreement with Shell’s subsidiary, Sabah Shell Petroleum Company.
BMT Group said last week that the three-year agreement would see the company provide maintenance and services on the Gumusut-Kakap and Malikai deepwater platforms in Malaysia.
The company added that this was the second time BMT was awarded an offshore services contract with Shell.
Isaac Chia, BMT’s operations manager in Kuala Lumpur, said: “The upgrades and systems installations for this contract with Sabah Shell further builds on BMT’s excellent track record in supplying major platform integrity monitoring systems to offshore oil and gas operators.”
Both deepwater platforms currently have BMT’s marine instrumentation systems and marine advisory systems installed.
BMT’s maintenance plan will cover major servicing aspects of these systems including calibration checks, software maintenance and updates, remote technical support and analysis.
The MSA contract secured with Sabah Shell will allow BMT to provide servicing the previously installed systems ensuring that its components remain fully functional and deliver accurate data.
