Bomin Linde expects to order LNG bunkering vessel in Q3

The tender process initiated by Germany-based Bomin Linde LNG for contracting a liquefied natural gas bunker supply vessel has entered the final phase.

The vessel is expected to be ordered in the third quarter this year and will become operational in 2017, Bomin Linde said in a statement on Thursday.

In February this year Klaipedos Nafta, operator of the first full scale LNG terminal in the Baltic Sea region, and Bomin Linde, provider of liquefied natural gas as marine fuel, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly develop the LNG fuel market in the Baltic Sea in particular the development of an LNG bunker supply vessel.

This LNG bunker supply vessel will provide bunkering services in the entire Baltic and North Sea. Besides LNG bunkering the vessel will also transport LNG to other terminals and to the reloading station in Klaipeda, which is being developed by 2017 by Klaipedos Nafta.

With a total capacity of up to 7.000 cubic meters, a powerful set of adjustable pumps and on-board re-liquefaction equipment the vessel will be able to serve a broad set of client vessels with different tank types and capacities, Bomin Linde added.
