Boskalis Subsidiary Dockwise Wins New Contracts

Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) announces that Dockwise has recently been awarded numerous new contracts for heavy marine transport as well as transport and installation (T&I) services. The contracts were awarded since mid-June and carry a combined total value of approximately USD 175 million.

Various short term heavy marine transport contracts were acquired, primarily for the transportation of jack-up rigs, and all due to commence in the next couple of months. Included in these contracts is the transportation of large, state-of-the-art new built rigs from Singapore to Brazil in 2013/14 on the Dockwise Vanguard.

Furthermore, four long term heavy marine transport contracts were acquired of which two also include a float-over T&I component. Dockwise will transport a jacket and topside unit for delivery in Malaysia and install the 15.000 MT topside through a float-over (2015); transport a fixed production structure on behalf of Statoil from Korea to Norway (2016); and Dockwise will execute the installation of the topside for the Aasta Hansteen development in the North Sea through a dual barge float-over (2015). The remaining heavy marine transport contract will involve the Dockwise Vanguard, the world’s largest semi-submersible heavy lift vessel. The Dockwise Vanguard will be deployed for the transportation of a Floating Production, Storage and Offloading unit (FPSO) from the Far East to West Africa (2016).

Boskalis’ strategy is aimed at benefitting from key macro-economic factors which drive worldwide demand in our markets: expansion of the global economy, increase in energy consumption, global population growth and the challenges that go hand in hand with climate change. These contract wins by Dockwise are closely related to the increase in energy consumption.
