Brazil: Farstad, Petrobras Ink Charter Contracts for Two AHTS

Norway based Farstad Shipping has been awarded the following charter contracts for two of its anchor handling tug and supply vessels.

AHTS Far Scout (2001, UT 722L, 18.700 BHP) has been contracted by Petrobras in Brazil for a 4 year period. Petrobras has the option to extend the contract with another 4 years. The contract includes both anchor handling- and ROV services. A third party has been contracted for delivery of the ROV services.

The vessel will be technically upgraded before start-up of the contract, which is expected to take place during the first quarter of 2012.

The contract, excluding options, represents a gross revenue of approximately NOK 550 million (USD 92.9 million).

AHTS Far Sailor (1997, UT 722, 16.800), contracted by Petrobras until end February 2012, will replace Far Scout’s two-year contract awarded by Petrobras in November 2011. Far Sailor will therefore be in service for Petrobras in Brazil for an additional 2 year period.
