Brazil FPSO Explosion Seventh body recovered

BW Offshore, a Norway-based provider of FPSO units, has reportedly found another victim of the explosion that struck its Cidade Sao Matheus FPSO offshore Brazil, on February 11.

This rises the death toll to seven workers. Two Brazilian workers are still missing.

The news of the discovery of the seventh body has been reported by Reuters. Offshore Energy Today has reached out to BW Offshore seeking confirmation.

BW Offshore is operating the FPSO for Petrobras, on the Camarupim and Camarupim Norte fields in Espirito Santo state of Brazil, approximately 120 km from the coast.

Update: 27.2. 2015

In an e-mail sent to Offshore Energy Today, a BW Offshore spokesperson has confirmed that “a body was found onboard [the FPSO] yesterday.”
