Brazil Imported One LNG Cargo in February

Brazil, the largest country in South America, imported only one LNG cargo, or 45,981 mt in February, according to the trade statistics.

Brazil’s LNG imports in 2011 dropped 73.4 percent, compared to the year before.

The country currently has LNG terminals in Pecém (State of Ceará), with a regasification capacity of 7 million cubic meters per day, and in the Guanabara Bay (state of Rio de Janeiro), with capacity to regasify 14 million cubic meters per day.
