The contract stipulates for the 86,000 cbm vessel to be delivered in later part of 2021 and includes an option for an additional vessel, the report said.

The order is being reported shortly after Jiangnan booked a construction gig with Taiwanese shipping major Evergreen Marine Corp. Namely, the yard has secured orders for four firm 2,500 TEU feeder container vessels due for delivery in 2021.

Based on VesselsValue’s data, the shipbuilder has 24 vessels under construction, predominantly being built for Jiangnan’s compatriot companies.

These newbuilds include four LPG carriers being built for Petredec, two LPG carriers being built for Fortune Oil, two midsize LNG carriers being built for Jovo Energy, followed by four ultra large containerships ordered by COSCO Shipping Lines and three by Oriental Fleet International.
