Under the contract, the company has an option to order up to six additional vessels, potentially bringing the ordering tally to 10 newbuild Ultramaxes.

The quartet, to be Tier III ready, fetched a price of USD 24 million each, Intermodal said.

According to VesselsValue, each ship has a market value of USD 20.6 million.

The newbuilds are expected to start delivery in 2019, with the final two ships from the firm batch set to be handed over by the yard in 2020.

Glory Maritime has a fleet of six owned ships, including four bulkers, one MPP and one general cargo ship.

The latest order brings the shipbuilder’s orderbook to 20 newbuildings.
