Bulgaria: Sofia-Based Companies Afilik and Vives Buy Rousse Shipyard

Bulgaria’s Commission for Protection of Competition has given green light to the sale of Rousse Shipyard to two firms linked to Corporate Commercial Bank. Following the decision, Sofia-based companies Afilik Bulgaria and Vives will gain full control over the shipyard where they already have a 25 per cent stake through their subsidiary Ship Invest.

The regulator has concluded that the purchase would not create conditions for the establishment of a dominant position on the market. The companies will buy the asset from Germany-registered entities Alfa and Omega. The sale was first announced in February, but further information about the deal, including the asset’s buyer, had not been disclosed at that time.
