B&V Gas Expert Joins APGA Board of Directors

The American Public Gas Association (APGA) has selected Rod Walker to serve on the APGA Board of the Directors. Rod Walker is a Director within Black & Veatch Management Consulting. His selection was announced during the American Public Gas Association Annual Convention in Boston this week.

“Rod has played a key role in helping APGA plan for the expanding role of natural gas in the U.S. economy,” said Bert Kalisch, President and CEO, American Public Gas Association. “We are pleased to add his expertise to the Board as we work to bring safe, reliable natural gas to communities around the nation.”

Walker has been a member of APGA for more than eight years and has held a variety of leadership positions. He has served on the Operations and Safety Committee. He has also led the special committee to develop an annual utility system excellence award, SOAR, the Systems Operations Achievement Recognition. In 2012, Mr. Walker was awarded the American Public Gas Association’s Harry Cooke award, which recognizes the Associate Member who has made the greatest contribution to APGA.

“I am grateful to the nominating committee and APGA membership for this opportunity,” said Rod Walker. “APGA strives to provide safe, affordable, clean natural gas to the communities served by its members. I plan to work as an advocate to further its effective representation of public gas systems across the country.”

A 28-year veteran of the natural gas industry, Walker is also recognized as a utilities operations risk assessment expert. Walker specializes in gas utility operations, gas engineering, system management, and M&A due diligence advisory services. He received a Bachelor of Sciences in Civil Engineering from Clemson University.
