Canadian Minister visits Sodegaura LNG terminal

Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird recently toured the Tokyo Gas-operated Sodegaura LNG import terminal in Chiba prefecture, Japan.

“This visit provided an opportunity for Baird to promote Canada as a responsible, reliable and secure energy supplier to markets in Asia,” a statement by the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development of Canada said.

The Sodegaura terminal is one of  the largest LNG import terminals in the world with an annual capacity of 29.34 million tons. The LNG import terminal started its operations in 1973 .
