Carnarvon appoints new director

Carnarvon Petroleum Limited, an Australian exploration company focused on North West Shelf, has appointed Peter Moore to the Board of Carnarvon.

Moore is currently the Professor and Executive Director of Strategic Engagement at Curtin University’s Business School. In 2014, he was appointed as the Chair of ESWA (Earth Sciences WA) and in 2015 he was appointed to Curtin University’s Science and Engineering Advisory Council.

Carnarvon’s Chairman, Peter Leonhardt, said of the appointment: “We are pleased to welcome Peter to the Board and look forward to his contributions to our future growth. In making this appointing the Board had particular regard to Peter’s technical expertise, business experience and his connections into relevant organisations that Carnarvon seeks to do business with.

“Peter’s extensive experience speaks for itself, as does its relevance to the very clear strategy of our company”.

From 2009 to 2013, Moore was the Executive Vice President for Woodside Energy Ltd, he had worked as member of Woodside’s Executive Committee and Opportunities Management Committee, and was the Head of the Geoscience function across all of the company.

Carnarvon Petroleum holds exploration permits covering 25,000km2 in the North West Shelf, and in 2014 the company made the Phoenix South oil discovery with a follow up well scheduled to start in 2015.
