CB&I posts $504 million loss in 2015

The LNG engineer Chicago Bridge & Iron posted a net loss of US$504.4 million for the year 2015 and $65.7 million for the third quarter of the same year. 

This compares to the $543.6 million and $150.4 million profit for the whole year and the fourth quarter, respectively, in 2014, according to the company’s report issued on Thursday.

The company’s revenue for the year was $12.9 billion, including an $890 million negative impact attributable to foreign currency translation. Revenue for the quarter was at $3.3 billion.

New awards of $13 billion for the year include bookings for the engineering and construction of an additional liquefaction train for an existing LNG project in Texas and CB&I added that it has been selected for the construction and engineering of LNG developments in East Africa which it expects to book during 2016.
