CDC to Show its Innovative Jack-Up Vessel at All Energy 2013

Celtic Design Consultants are to exhibit at All Energy 2013 event in Aberdeen. They will be showing their innovative multi purpose jack up design.

A working model of the design, named CDC Heron, and described as the ultimate offshore maintenance & intervention vessel for Oil & Gas and Renewables, will be on the stand, A57.

According to Celtic Design Consultants, the CDC Heron is the only vessel in the world that can provide a fully functional working platform, at any given height, enabling installation and maintenance activities regardless of environmental conditions either on a Wind Turbine Tower, Wellhead Platform or Production Platform.

Specs

The Heron’s unique feature is the Multi-Functional Secondary Deck that operates independently of the Main Hull (Patented).
Platform elevates independently of the main hull. Platform is powered independently of the main hull; Independent platform multi-role and future-proof.

The travelling gantry crane will have both a jib crane above and a hydraulic lifting system below. Both systems will be remotely controlled enabling the operator to be at the point of landing of both turbine and blades. Platform extends both sides of the tower.
