Fiori plans to step down from the position effective December 31, 2018.

The resignation is being presented after Fiori spent over 22 years in the group.

“The Board of Directors has accepted his resignation, expressing the most heartfelt thanks to him for the important contribution he has made to the company over the years and wishing him further future professional success,” the company said in a regulatory filing.

d’Amico was hit by a very difficult market in the second quarter of the year, reporting a net loss of USD 20.2 million for the first half of 2018, compared to a net loss of USD 6.2 million a year earlier.

However, DIS said that it maintains its positive medium-term outlook on the product tanker industry, whilst focusing on strengthening its organization and its financial situation.
