CGGVeritas' Subsidiary Recognized at CSEG Symposium (Canada)

Brian Russell and Dan Hampson of Hampson-Russell Software & Services, a CGGVeritas company, have been recognized by their peers and colleagues as the inaugural Honorees of the first CSEG Symposium held in Calgary, Canada on 22 March.

The 2012 CSEG Symposium was the first of what will be an annual event to showcase the CSEG’s best speakers, with talks featuring the application of value-adding technologies in a case study format.

Brian and Dan were honored with this distinction for their considerable contributions to the science and industry and for their entrepreneurial success and social leadership. Brian and Dan founded Hampson-Russell Software in 1987. Both have been very active in the CSEG and other industry societies throughout their extensive careers, contributing their time to noteworthy causes.

The technical talks at the CSEG Symposium showcased the influence of Hampson-Russell contributions to technology, including extensions to their original concepts, demonstrating the strength of the technical foundations laid by the duo.

Colin Murdoch, Executive Vice President, Processing, Imaging & Reservoir, CGGVeritas, said: “Brian and Dan fully deserve this recognition. They have built their company on a business model encompassing social leadership, transparency, loyalty to their employees, and a mantra that no one is a competitor, therefore everyone is treated equally, from small consultants to the largest national oil companies.”
