Cheniere to file for Corpus Christi expansion in March

Houston-based Cheniere Energy revealed it plans to submit in March a formal application for the Corpus Christi LNG Stage 3 expansion with the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

The Corpus Christi Stage 3 project comprises two 4.5 mtpa liquefaction trains, one liquefied natural gas storage tank, and a new 21-mile-long, 42-inchdiameter pipeline, Cheniere revealed in its filing.

The expansion project would increase Corpus Christi facility’s liquefaction capacity to 22.5 mtpa over a total of five trains.

It is expected that the trains four and five would begin service in the first quarter of 2021.
