Chevron agrees LNG supply deal with ENN

Chevron revealed on Monday it has signed a non-binding heads of agreement with ENN LNG Trading for the delivery of up to 0.5 mtpa of liquefied natural gas from the Gorgon project

Once the deal is finalized, LNG will be delivered to China for a period of 10 years starting in 2018, or the first half of 2019, Chevron said in a statement.

Volumes from the 15.5 mtpa Chevron-operated Gorgon project on Barrow Island in Australia are expected to be delivered to ENN’s Zhoushan LNG receiving terminal currently under construction. The terminal is scheduled for completion in 2018.

The Gorgon project, a joint venture of Chevron (47.3 percent), ExxonMobil (25 percent), Shell (25 percent), Osaka Gas (1.25 percent), Tokyo Gas (1 percent) and Chubu Electric Power (0.417 percent), is nearing its start-up as it has recently received the commissioning cargo and began the cool-down process and final testing.
