Chile: Quintero terminal received 25 LNG tankers in H1

Chile’s Quintero LNG import terminal has received 25 carriers in the first half of 2015, up by four vessels as compared to the same period a year before.

GNL Quintero, the operator of the LNG receiving facility, said the terminal delivered 1.904 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Chile’s grid, a rise of 16.8 percent from the first half in 2014.

The import terminal received 204 LNG vessels since its start-up in 2010, according to data by GNL Quintero.

Quintero LNG terminal has earlier this year completed a US$30 million expansion project boosting its regasification capacity by 50 percent to 15Mm3/d.

The expansion project also doubled the amount of gas transported by truck to 2,500 m3/d from the LNG terminal.

GNL Quintero is a joint venture of Enap (20%), Endesa Chile (20%), Metrogas (20%), and Terminal de Valparaíso (Enagas, Oman Oil) which holds 40 percent in the project.
