China: Afai Southern Hosts Leaders of CCS WUHAN RULES AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE

In the morning of May 17th, Vice Director of Rules&Regulation Department of CCS WUHAN RULES AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE Mr. Xiao Shuming, with other guests, visited Afai Southern Shipyard to investigate, collected the related information about the application status of extrusion panels on the aluminum alloy vessels and rules’ applicability.

Vice General Manager of the company, Mr. Yeqiang attended the meeting and technology exchange.

During the meeting, Vice Director Mr.Xiao and Afai Southern’s engineering and technology personnel made a detailed communication – discussion regarding the currently applied extrusion panels’ structure type as well as their demand and scope to the vessels, connection methods with its main supports and related welding requirements.

After the meeting, Vice Director Mr. Xiao visited the workshop, reviewed the extrusion panels and its related structures of vessels under construction, indicated that this investigation will be of great significance to improve the rules and regulations for aluminum alloy vessels.
