CIC Lixin Shipyard Completes Repair Works for Vessel Ho Hae

The repair works for MV “Ho Hae” have been successfully completed by CIC Lixin Shipyard on March 28th 2012. The vessel is a bulk carrier owned by a South Korean company.

The scope of repairs included the renewal of the side shell, cargo hold frame, bulwark with bracket iwo pt. & st. of No.1 cargo hold, forecastle deck, boat deck and davit partly renewal. The repairs were planned to last 7 days with ho time for docking the vessel, which brought many difficulties for the shell plate renewal job.

Firstly, the plate located 3 meters up from bilge keel with big curve. Secondly, it’s very dangerous to build up a staging upon the water. Considering the related difficulties, the engineering department arranged one special meeting in situ, analyzing the feasibility of carrying out the job outside a dock. The yard came out with a plan for safe and reliable staging and plate renewal.

Finally, all the work was completed as planned under the great endeavor of each department.
